    Default Rarest Mustangs?

I found an article about rare Mustangs that I thought was interesting. Both because of some of the cars on the list and also because of some not on the list that are more rare afaik. For example, no Dominators.

Favorite thing I’ve said that’s been requoted: “"40 year old beercan on wheels with too much motor"

    My four eyed foxes:
"Trigger" - 86 Mustang GT - Black with red interior. 5.0 T5 built as Z. Original motor ~1/2 million miles. 18 yr daily, 10 a toy
"Silver" - 85 Mustang Saleen 1985-006? (Lol) Rare 1E silver GT / charcoal interior. The car is a little bit of a mystery. Current project bought as a roller, tons of Saleen / Racecraft pedigree

Also in the stable - my son’s car. 1986 Mustang GT Convertible. Black/Black/Black conversion. 93 leather. VM1 ECU. T5Z

    past foxes -
1989 Mustang LX Sport 5.0 AOD white/tan black top. Once I ran this one down I caught a wife.
Wife also had a 1987 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe in the 90's.

Dominators are rarely listed because there are no specific counts. We know they exist. Just don't have documentation as to the total numbers.

Back in '94, I worked at Archway Ford in Baltimore, MD.. We were a Saleen and SVT dealer (Ford required at least one SVT trained sales person and service tech to sell SVTs), and I was one of the two SVT techs. We sold at least two '94 Saleen v6 coupes (I did the PDI on one), both Laser Red. I don't recall any others. We also sold a black '94 Cobra and Chrome Yellow GT with removable hardtop, and at least one '96 Mystic Cobra.

In my limited knowledge of production numbers even I could see errors in that list. How about that number for 79 Pace Cars? Seems off to me. I thought the V8 with 4spd was the lower production number than turbo 4spd cars.

Who came up with this ridiculously stupid and inaccurate list? Obviously not someone with actual Mustang knowledge.

Yep - link was provided at the start of the discussion.

I saw 84 Saleen on the list twice and no 85 too which I assume the 2nd 84 is actually the 85 production number.

I thought we might enjoy making our own list that's closer to accurate.

They don't mention the 1997 Woodward Dream Cruise cars.....think they made about 60.

There were nowhere near 500 85 Saleens built. Try 130. If you combined 84, 85 and 86 you'd be in the mid-300's. See why people aren't giving their four eyed Saleen foxes away now?

The 94 Saleen V6 sport is right, although unserialized.

I think the 'spirit' of the list is cool, but so many cars aren't captured. Its really a tall order to put together a list like this.
