    Default Shaker scoop

Searching around today for a air cleaner housing and came across shaker air cleaner and associated hardware for 69-70 mach 1 cj pony. Has anyone tried to adapt to a fox body?

There was an aero car at the MCA show in KC with a shaker scoop. It was the only foxbody I have seen with one. I believe it was a yellow convertible outside.

It's very doable, the shaker scoop you mentioned essentially functions as your carb hat, and it just pokes up through the hood and gathers the air via forced induction. Kinda like a poor mans turbo lol. Personally I think the GT scoops are far superior looking to the shaker, but that's personal opinion. Once I'm done turning my gt hood into a shaker ill post the pics for you to look at.

I know the owner of that yellow aero nose car, if you are interested in details. I believe he bought the car that way a couple years ago.

Do it. I put a CDC shaker hood scoop kit on my '02 GT and loved it.

The shaker I saw looked like it was based upon the 04 mach1.

Wondering how u would adjust height of scoop in relationship to hood so that it sits correctly since carb to hood clearance can vary.

Size: 93.9 KBI installed the shaker system on that yellow feature car and later sold the car to the current owner. It was a "kit" and it's been way too long ago for me to remember the manufacturer. It fit extremely well and included everything needed.

it is believed that one of the owners added the hood scoop to that Capri. Others say it was installed by Roush for the race.

If scoop doesn't sit high enough, then 351 swap. Done.

What I need to do after my engine is installed is find a "shaker " and just test fit it.

Curent owner of the yellow car is Ralph Perkins. He is an MCA National Director. Drop him an email at perkinsiii@hotmail.com
    Ralph's a good guy.
He thinks the maker of the kit was Banshee or something like that.

No Dominators had a Shaker scoop. They had an 82 GT hood scoop made functional.

Since I own one and run the registry for the Dominators. I have a pretty good idea what they have.

Thanks for setting me straight Steve.

It was great to see the work done to get cool air there.

    Great machines!

Here this car lives by me and I'm familiar with it. He used a vintage set up and it works great! I should have other pics at home if anyone is interested.

How is that functional? It looks like it is sealed to the air cleaner cover.

Holes drilled in the cover outside the air filter.

The scoop kits were made by Classic Design Cocepts. They don't make them anymore and I have only ever seen 2 or 3. The ones I've seen are made to fit aero cars with FI. It sits on the intake and has an air tube down to the air box in the stock location. When it's all said and done the air goes thru about four or five feet of tube before getting to the throttle body.
