Do we ever derail threads? Boy do we. Lol!

2ndchance - you are not that far away. I'll touch base when the time comes on those parts for my 86. Thank you!

Soon im going to have get focused and motivated on the 85. My wife is coming to grips with the fact that there will be two mustangs again for a while. Hopefully that 85 won't be too hard to get running and driving and ready for paint.... I will start a built thread for it soon given all the stuff I need for it.

Wasn't able to spend a lot of time working on the Capri today, still need to pay bills!

Swapped out the fuel pump and filter on the carb.
Cleaned the cap and rotor a bit. Had to wire the clutch switch together thanks to mice!
    Installed a new starter solenoid.

I also power washed the Capri, but forgot to take some pictures of it afterwards. Yes, it is cleaner and less moldy, but doesn't really look all that different!

I don't I just go along for the ride and then try to slowly steer the bus back on track! It's all good and fun . . . except for the full floor pan replacement desires!

No pictures to update this thread, but . . .

I pulled the fuel tank out today. Wasn't as bad as I expected. Definitely varnish rather than fuel at this point. Pretty good coating inside the tank, that and the couple of decent dents in the tank made the decision to scrap it and order a replacement pretty easy.

Surprising the fuel sending unit was pretty clean and actually working. Doesn't quite show Fuel when it should, but it does show Empty and 1/2 tank pretty well.

I also removed the front fog lights to clean the front end up. Removed the alternator to have it tested, but there's no reason to since the bearing is making enough noise to guarantee that it won't last long. The alternator wiring will need some work to make it reliable and trustworthy.

That's about it for today. Hoping to have more time to work on the roof, but just not sure until I wrap up the Mustang I am painting right now.

Haven't had the chance to do much to the Capri since I am trying to wrap up a paint job on a 1971 Mustang.

Finally have all the parts and pieces in color, now it's time to assemble the car!

Since I didn't have time to work on my beloved RS, I did decide to buy some nice used wheels for her!

16 X 7 Enkei Mesh Wheels in Silver. They need some polish and maybe some paint on the baskets, but they are straight, true, and no road rash. Oh and they at least have 4 tires that hold air, so that is a better setup than I have right now!

    Yep!

The plan is to buy a set of those in the future since the RS was equipped with the TRX package originally. Unfortunately I don't have the funds for those and new tires right now with everything else the RS needs, so . . . Enkei's it is! Besides I like the look better anyway. But who knows, maybe I won't after all and then I will have no choice but to sell them to you.

    That made me smile Trey!

    Yea, expensive hobby.

I've spent a pile of money today. Only awesome part is that I now have the entire snapon set for transmission bushing removal and installation..... was darn spendy even used but it's a must have tool when you need to swap bushings on a C4, AOD, or T5

    OOHHHHHH......center caps!

Now find someone that can 3D print those at a reasonable cost and the Enkei guys, like myself, would buy them in a heartbeat.

Nice score on the wheels. I wish I had a set of 16's but the 15's work for me until I can't order tires anymore.

Huge score on those 16's. Virtually impossible to find.

Boy what I would give for a two post in my garage.

Are you just going to section the rear of the floor pans?

EDIT: I just realized I was commenting on a post from the first page..... You've already said you'll do a full floor pan replacement

Definitely not my color choice but Mustang is a Grande with the 429 Cobra Jet so the owner wants it original.

Thanks the paint came out pretty well. Everything is in color. Now final assembly then a couple blend coats because of the metallic brown color and we should be done!

Back in '78 when I was first driving (legally), I had a chance to buy a '71 Mach1 with the 429 SCJ for $2000. I was a kid working in a bodyshop as a helper back then, it might as well cost a million. One of those memories that sticks in my mind.

Though it's separate from your original posts, post a picture of it when you're done.
