Default 1986 SVO A/C conversion kit LMR - which pulley is best to run a/c off of

Considering buying the LMR a/c conversion kit for my SVO because I really don't have many other choices.

LMR is saying in their "install notes" that 86 owners with a 3 groove water pump pulley will need to purchase a 1984-85 svo water pump pulley for it to work correctly.

Now I also see in the reviews where someone used a 3 groove crank pulley - https://lmr.com/item/HW-19712F/84-86...R-12-To-R-134A

My question is, does it matter in anyway, which pulley I run that compressor off of?

    Thanks,
    Drew

I was under the impression that the 3 groove crank pully gave a better grip angle for the belt. But if you do buy this kit please post pics and write up. I've been holding off over concerns it wont fit around my fmic set up.

Got it installed. Thanks for the help!

I believe I actually got the last kit from LMR but here’s a link with all the parts and measurements that were included in the kit.

I think it was like $800-$1000. Is have to look at the receipt.

Here’s the kit and some measurements I took in case someone wanted to try and make the lines. I wish I had taken better pics of the bracket. Or had a few made.

Unless something has changed, the kit is made by Hose Wizards out of Grayson GA. They don't really market themselves, but years ago I called them for a replacement condenser for one of my cars that had their kit on it. They were very helpful, took my order and sent me the condenser directly. You might try calling them and see if they will sell you the SVO kit or at least give you the information for a vendor that does. Good Luck!

I believe this is the correct information, but I haven't looked for it in several years. https://www.yelp.com/biz/hose-wizards-grayson

I purchased a Hose Wizard kit about 10 years ago - worked great! I did a serpentine set up. No longer have this SVO.

That's sad to hear. He was a nice, helpful gentleman the few times I called him. RIP
