Default 84 Turbo RS update for those who might be interested.

Well, I'm finally getting the time and funds to get to explore and experience my Capri. I dig this car.

For those of you who haven't seen pics of it, these are recent, not the best, but you'll get an idea of what I'm up against.

I absolutely LOVE how tough this thing looks up front. uNf!

Gotta sand it down and get it to match the rest of the car. Long story behind the hatch and I don't know much of it.

The gauges I tossed in due to the car being unknown and high mileage so that I could keep an eye on some things. Boost gauge to come

    My two "fun mod" parts

I'm going to have an ordeal getting it titled as it's a Georgia car with no title. Damn title optional state for model year 85 and earlier. Nice. It passed emissions and I'm now starting to putt around in it enough to learn it's quirks and problems to be addressed.

This weekend I went to see about getting my 3" exhaust all the way back. That should come in a few weeks Even gonna think about before and after dyno pulls if i can do it cheap enough. Just one before and one after. Yeah, I'm a dork.

The brakes need bled desperately, got wheel cylinders for the drums, pads look okay. Going to try to work on the paint that I have and get a match for the non-factory grey that it is. DESPERATELY need 83-84 style decals for the car. A cool aftermarket fan is going on as the factory one is giving up the ghost. This one will look muuuuuch better, and more importantly, perform better in the PHX heat. Trying to think of what else is going on with it. Wiper motor is having a fit...found that out in the rain. HAHA!

The turbo is a blast. Despite the 200 hp difference between this car and my GT, I'm having too much fun with this RS.

I'm glad to finally have a Capri and even more grateful that I was able to find a Turbo RS in one piece and pretty much fully functional. I'd like to think this car has found it's way into the right hands.

Nothing like having two Capris in the garage

Not too bad of a looking car. Nice to see this one in good hands.

That rear hatch is a bit rough, but if that is the worst of it...

Wish I had the room. No room right now for another car. I am still looking.

Skye, if it was my car, i'd swap over to the newer 4x4 box intake, get the bigger 35lb injecters, bigger VAM, and swap over to an LA3 computer although a little bit of wiring will be needed. That should help out a little bit.

Skye, if you can't find the decals, you may want to try Phoenix Graphics. They will probably reproduce them for you. They did my Cobra graphics for me and they came out great.

I have an 84 RS Turbo also and live in El Mirage. Phoenix Graphix is my suggestion as well. I was just there last week. They didn't have any in stock, but they are calling me when they get them. They are just off I-10 at Elliot, left on Priest, left on Todd, suite A-103.

Wow! One in my area! What condition is it in? Have any pics to share?

I'll have to check out Phoenix Graphics. I've found the earlier style decals, but not the 83-84 style. I still haven't done my hatch as I'm not yet comfortable with destroying what's left of that decal till I have replacements.

I bought this car in June, 2000 in Clovis, NM for $200. The hood, drivers door and fender and nose clip had been stolen. I have replaced all of this this stuff, but the door is turning out to be unusable. I have two doors lined up that match to replace what I've got. This car has t-tops, dealer air, power windows and manual locks. It looks like hell now because it's 4 colors and most of the original paint on the top surfaces is gone even past the primer. Not bad, just looks rusty. I got a digital camera for Xmas so I'll post some pics soon.

I'm way behind on local goings on. Fill me in what's happening on the 26th. My 84 kinda runs. I think the fuel filler neck is blocked, can't put gas in it, just back flushes out. The timing belt is way stretched out so it is a chore to keep it timed. I have the parts to restify this car to SVO specs, but I want to get it running properly stock first. Mainly, it just needs to be rebuilt. My budget and work (USAF) kind of have a monopoly on resources and time. Looking forward to getting to know more folks that have cars like mine. My daily driver is a stock black 86 GT.

The blusher is because the GT is stock except for the alternator, mufflers, shifter and airfilter. I've had it since Aug 95, 162,000 miles. Some cosmetic changes, nothing very noticable.

Sweet, nice to see some more of these dying cars getting some attention!! I bought my rs turbo two years ago and it was in much worse shape (and exterior still is) - haha... so youve got a lot of potential..
