Default Looking for manual vs automatic production numbers

Hello from the North Coast of Ohio !
I am the proud owner of a rust-free 1983 GLX 5.0 5-speed convertible. The car was manufactured in the Light Cadet Blue, and then repainted a dark metallic blue (not sure if it is a Ford color). Based on some quick research, I learned that there were (29 Lt. Cadet Blue Mustang GLX's produced in1983 with the 5.0, 5-speed combination. I'm trying to determine how many of those (29 cars were manuals. Is this data available without purchasing a Marti report ?

    My VIN number is: 1FABP27F7DF215247

No "Cadet" blues in 1983. They were "Academy" blues. See all of the regular production paint codes and names here: http://www.foureyedpride.com/content...r-Paint-Colors

The "298" number that you quote, from the Fox Body Mustang Recognition Guide and the Mustang Red Book, is for "P27F" and only P27F. That 298 number is for GLX and GT combined. (Both have same P27F code.) That 298 number is not by transmission code. (Those books do not break down numbers by transmission codes.)

All 1983 5.0L Capris and Mustangs had a manual transmission. There was no automatic available behind the Capri/Mustang 5.0L engine in 1983. There were two manual transmissions available behind the Capri/Mustang 5.0L engine in 1983; a Tremec "SROD" 4-speed (code "4") and a Borg Warner "T-5" 5-speed (code "2").

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond with this information. I had no idea that Ford did not produce automatics in the noted combination. I will likely proceed with purchasing the Marti report for my car to get an accurate production total for the 1983 GLX Academy Blue 5.0 liter 5-speed convertibles. It must be a lot lower than (29, due to this number including GT convertibles as well. I'd be happy to let you know the true number once I receive the report.

You will have to get a "Personalized Statistics Report" or an "Elite Report" (includes deluxe report, personal stats report, door tag, and window sticker) if you want to know how many 5.0L GLX convertible with Academy Blue paint and a 5-speed. A deluxe report will not tell you that.
