Question Anyone ever see valve covers like this?

No, they're not for sale. Unless you can afford to buy what they're attached to, and he's asking more than I have in my house.

No and hopefully I never will again. Why would you have circumference AND center bolted valve covers????? I guess so the "thick wall rocker covers, studs and cylinder head assembly become an integrated unit" as the ad says. That's exactly what I need. I am somewhat surprised that was a product offered by Ford Racing.

Interesting, but IMO, not a good idea. Needless additional spots for oil leakage, with no great benifit over a traditional design. Cool for the odd factor, but I'd shelf them on anything BUT a show car.

If I understand it correctly, it looks like the point is for the valve cover to act as a rocker stud girdle. Instead of having them as separate pieces. If the valve cover was thick enough in the right areas, it sounds like it could work.

Then again, I'm just into weird things that others turn up their noses at. If it had ever gotten C.A.R.B EO #s, I would've snatched up a BXR intake in a second.

^^^It doesn't sound like it, that is exactly what the ad says which I quoted. What a terrible idea. So to remove the valve covers, you have to go back and adjust and torque the "girdle". What a joke. i can't imagine why that hasn't caught on......

It's not like you have to pull valve covers every two days or anything. On a fuel injected intake you have to take almost the whole motor apart to get at the valve covers.

Yup, the sold down here as SVO Motorsport Stud Girdled Valve covers for Canted Valve 335 heads.

Most saw duty in DeTomasos by the Toy Shop, the SVO A3 headed Hedley Offroad Bronco which took out the Aussie Outback racing in the late 80's and early 90's.

but the most impressive (for me) were in Mark Dall'Acqua's rides

Ford Motorsport had a 84-85 thunderbird with a 351C and those valve covers when they were in production. It was black with 8 hole centerlines on it. I saw it at Englishtown Back in the day.

The BXR did not get CARB approved? I know it was EPA tested for it.
