    Default wiper arm replacement

Im looking at wiper arm replacements for my 84 LX convertible

    LMR has this replacement part

I never liked the pin attachment way the wiper blades go on. they wobble all the time. I was wondering if anyone make a hook type wiper arm that fits the Mustang wiper regulator splines like this one at Advance Auto,

If I have to use the LMR ones I will but I was hoping to get more durable ones than the OEM type.

I have never had a problem with the stock wiper arm. I have not seen any other designs either. My big complaint is the wiper blades. All the aftermarket ones fail pretty quickly. I have found the Motircraft ones to be best and I use them on all my cars.

I don't drive in the rain, so they don't get much use. However, the few times that I had to use them, there hasn't been any problems.

If the pins wobble on your OEM wiper arms, I would buy aftermarket repros to replace them. I replaced the arms and the wipers on my 84 and they were very secure. I'm going to do the same thing on the '83 as soon as this heat wave breaks.

Mine work fine but if you are serious about your idea, take one of your OEM arms to a Pick A Part and compare them with those that have the attachment style you want. Wouldn't have to be a Ford even as I am sure those parts are fairly standard. Just get the correct length.
