Well, our middle daughter is turning 16 at the end of August. We have been looking at vehicles for her given she will need something smaller than the wife's Ford Excursion and my F350 cc long bed 4x4 for the parallel portion of the driving test...don't think my truck will even fit in the required 25' space! Our oldest has a 08 Ford Taurus limited but will be going off to college within a day or so of when the middle daughter needs to take her driving test.
We looked at several vehicles given our budget and standards...Mustang, MKX, Mariner, Escape, Sport Trac, Jeep, etc. She had been looking every day and finally a Ford Edge popped up that might be within the budget...if dad could wager up his negotiating skills... We went and looked, and it was a little rougher than expected...as they all are. I was able to purchase the vehicle at a good price, so after all said and done will be at the top of our budget...minus dad's sweat equity...
This is a great little vehicle that received good safety ratings, has a great power plant, was clean for the most part, and just needed a little elbow grease to get it where we wanted. Oh, and then there's that blue oval on it...
So now I have upkeep on two 7.3L Powerstrokes, two 3.5L Duratecs, and one 5.0L HO...all of which are some of the best power plants Ford produced IMHO. This is of course in conjunction with all the other boats, tractor, trailers, etc.
Oh, you know little sissy has to take part in the process...
