Thread: 86 Saleen #018

    Default 86 Saleen #018

Need to make room for a new project. This car is as straight as an arrow with no rust or rot. The underneath of the car looks like it has 20k miles on it and it drives as if it does too. AC blows cold. beautiful paint. Car has 109k on it but you would never know. Real Saleen. It is an early 86 so it has the very rare 85 body kit including the front valence. If you want to own a car that you can drive anywhere and looks awesome this it the car. the correct wheels are in almost perfect shape, and the interior is close to mint also. Has headers and flowmaster exhaust (still has cats on it) car sounds awesome. just get in and drive anywhere. It is killing me to sell but I bought a new project that I am going to do with my son and I need the room. Car is located in Taunton MA. 02780. If you see this car in person you will fall in love!
$14,500 or B.O. New project is sitting outside in my trailer and I would love to get it inside and start working on it. No details on the new project....I will reveal it when it is done. Call me if you are interested and I will give you a complete detailed description. 508.558.8039

This is indeed a great car exactly as Harry describes. I got the privilege of driving (and I mean DRIVING), and cleaning this car in Houston back in 2013 during the Saleen Nationals.

Thanks for the review Jason. I drove the car about 100 miles today, I love driving this thing. I am seriously thinking of just keeping it and begging my buddy (the guy you met) to keep it in his building. he has about 50 cars...All Camaro, Nova, and Chevelles and he always says he has no room for Fords, but I might have to dig up some incriminating pictures of him and go the blackmail route! So don't be surprised if I take the ads down.

Buy a custom cover for it from California Car Cover, and have a Chevy bow-tie put on the front of it. Maybe that will be the ticket to getting it in his building

As for incriminating pictures, did you get any pictures of my garage with him standing in it back in May when you were here?

Jason I did not. Had I thought about it I probably should have. I will just make something up and threaten to spread it about him, that should do the trick. On second thought he really doesn't give a **** about what people think of him so I might have to come up with a plan B.

One last price drop. Make me an offer. this car is too nice to be ignored. Someone should be cruising this car for the Fall. I need to get "project X" into the garage.

Cruising in the fall sounds fun. 109K is a LOT of miles for a collector car which does really impact value. Roll of the dice for the next guy on resale value down the road.

    Bluntly, does $10K buy it?

I know the miles are a little high, but if you saw this car in person you would never believe the miles. The underneath of this car looks like it has 20k on it. I drove that car 360 miles today and it drove amazing. Took it to a cruise night in CT. and it was like driving my 2013 GT. I do understand the miles effect the value however these cars are gaining momentum in the market and reasonably low mile cars will be bringing 30k before you know it and that means the high mile cars go up too. You could buy a toilet for $7500- $8500 and have to put $15k into it to get it where this car is. If you saw in person you would understand. The car is tight and runs amazing. And it is not really rolling the dice because these cars are definitely going up in value (respective to the miles) Miles be damned...the value will continue to increase as long as the car is taken care of. It will never be a daily driver so the miles will not increase to 200k plus. I am open to offers but $10k is not close. The picture below is when I was about to get off the highway by my house I had reset the tripometer when I left early this afternoon. All 352 miles were with the AC blowing Ice cold and the slight hum of the exhaust complimenting the music I had on. ( yes it was all 80s metal)

For what its worth. My friend Mick looked at this car and said if he didnt already own a few he would buy it. He said its a nice clean straight car. This is coming from a guy that restores the nicest Shelby's in the world.

    Sounds like a great drive!

No intention to insult. If I were to buy it, it would be to enjoy while dumping major cash into the car I've owned for the past 25 years.

You cant always get what you want. But god's speed in getting what you need. PM me if you would like to discuss what you need further.

I would buy this, but I don't want something that will NOT irritate me and leave me stranded.

Good luck with the sale Harry. That's one nice ride.
