    Default Pypes mufflers

Anyone running Pypes mufflers on their cars? Just installed a cat back with Violator mufflers this weekend, WOW is it loud now under acceleration! I need to quiet/town it down a bit, just too raspy when your getting on it. Now I'm un sure if to get their Street or Race Pro mufflers? Pypes says the Race Pro is the quietest of the 3, seems odd to me that they would call it the Race Pro??

Do you have cats or no cats? I ran Pypes on my '85 GT convertible several years ago and really like the fit and finish. However I was catless so yes it was LOUD and it smelled driving with the top down.

How mufflers sound is a personal choice. Guess it just depends on what you want.

I have had good luck adding a Dynomax Bullit muffler before each of the regular mufflers to knock the sound down a little bit without spending a bunch of money.

No cats, Also this is with a fresh crate motor that has an E cam, GT40 heads, roller rockers, etc. Was running some beat up Flowmasters previously and wasn't half as loud.
Might end up getting the Race pros? Anybody interested in some Violators??

Pypes builds nice kits, I just hate that they're made in China.... Personally I'm a Spintech fan.

I like the Hooker Aerochamber mufflers, really solid and sound good. But again, made in China.

Love Pype Bomb M80s, and they're priced right. Sounds just like a SLP LM2 or Dynomax Bullet

Cool, good luck. I know it sucks having to spend money twice.

I'm running race pro on another car, sound level was very similar to the dynomax super turbos that I replaced, but they get pretty loud at WOT, but could be the xpipe. Pretty satisfied overall.

Well the Race Pros will do it for me! These sound great, not half as loud when getting on it compared to Violators.

Did a short video of the Violators but sound wise it doesn't come close to what it is in person.

erratic50, send me pm. Have maybe 20 miles on them...
