Default I saw the rarest Pace Car EVER

In aFacebook group I saw an ad last night for a person wanting to trade their Pace Car for a truck or SUV. He said is was rare. After the discussion took a turn toward slinging insults in my direction, I gave up and stopped typing to this person. But, for your viewing pleasure, I offer you the rarest PC I've ever seen.

    Attachment 113698

    Attachment 113699

    Attachment 113700

    Attachment 113701

    As stated by the owner:
    - Freshly rebuilt motor have pictures of whole build and aslo has 89 front emd swap still have origanal and also has 89 dash swap and center console

    - i know the history of the car the title in my hand its my car and its not hacked together thanks i habe all origanal parts thats been replaced with 89 parts and for two this is first gen foxbody pace car was in the indy 500 in 1980 in san jose califoria this model is very rare with the origanal 200ci straight six has more power and tourque then the 302 or 351 amd also this car still has all its origanal parts that come with it and it sat for 25 years untouched with 133k sat for 25 years i fully tore the motor down and rebuilt it with my own two hands

    - gonna be a power house stock has more tourque then 302 and 351 eat them for breakfast ....1979 ford mustang foxbody
Only couple couple hundred of this model made. 3speed auto 200ci straight six very rare in the foxbody Pound for pound, the 170, 200, and 250ci sixes make more torque than a small-block 302 or a 351 V-8 because they have six cylinders in a row on a common crankshaft for smooth application of firepower.

I can't imagine you had the patience to even try to correct a dude like that. So in 1980 they drove Mustangs in the Indy race that had been relocated to San Diego huh? WTFlip!!

I originally put that it was a $500 car, but decided to not be a jerk and deleted the comment. But, within the 60 seconds it took me to to go back in and delete the comment, the guy flipped his lid and called me a troll, etc. I tried to be good until he wanted to sling obscenities at me.

Wow....just wow. Not even worth our time with the level of stupidity in that ad!!!! I don't know whats worse....Indy 500 in San Jose California or how the 200CI straight six is such a powerhouse because it has 6 cylinders in a row on a common crank for smooth firepower...and will eat 302 and 351's. How much was he asking in the FB group for this peach?!

Oh...and check out the custom cut-out in the trans tunnel with a wire/grommet going to the trans? This has to be some sort of magic added by the race committee before that famous 1980 San Jose Indy 500...you know, because that stock trans wasn't gonna handle all that crazy, smooth firepower coming off that common crank!

Whats the name of the FB Group so we can all troll him!

First, yes, Facebook. Of all the places... Not as bad as Craigslist most days because you can at least look at someone's profile and see how awesome they are. The guy was seriously an awesome person.

He was looking for a trade for a truck, not a dollar figure. I did find a sale ad in the group for $3,000 today though. No stupidly ambitious claims of greatness other than he did a complete engine overhaul but not the water pump and thermostat (but has new seals for them). He started the car after the rebuild and the water pump is bad. He's given up on the car. Said in another comment on his profile he needed an SUV so he had more room to live in it. Not sure if he's living in his car? I guess a hatch would be beter than a coupe for that...

The group is Oregon Mustang Owners. https://www.facebook.com/groups/705290892850275/ If you feel like having some fun, you can find the post pretty easy.

The 200 six should be able to teleport if this Mustang was in Indianapolis and San Jose at the same time!

So I am guessing this powerful 6 cylinder Mustang actually entered the Indy 500, as the Offical Pace Car for the 1980 Indy 500 was a Trans Am. Wonder if it won?
