Default Pace Car on BJ Northeast

Anybody see this pace car on Barret Jackson yesterday? Think it sold for 10g. Nice original shape but a misplaced turbo badge and weird white line TRX tires.

The black is spray bomb and the fog lights looked all cock-eyed and discombobulated like someone towed the car with the fog light bar. Interior was pretty clean for what you could see. There was someone in the driver's seat. Looked original under the hood. You can see what it sold for online but yeah, I believe it was 10K.

If that is true 25k mileage, then not too bad for $11k (what the link says). Never seen white wall on TRX tires....thinking that might have been "striped" on by the owner?

"white line" TRX are may not be OE for Foxes but they are a legit tire.

Isn't the NCT what the SVOs came with only in 16 inch, not 390mm?

Why include a dumpster bin in a pic of a car..and one for sale at that?
    No respect. Car flippers.

Anyone who cares about best presentation would not have something like that visible.

Those are one thing i will not park near at any time.

What's up with the engine build sticker on the a/c housing?
    Or the pc dash emblem?
Car does look in good shape.
Why do they always have about 25,000 miles?

Michelin, Goodyear and Avon along with several other tire manufacturers all made metric size 390 mm tires in the early 80s.
If my memory serves me correctly or just maybe a myth but I believe the 3 actual Pace Cars did not set foot on that track on that day wearing Michelin tires during the race. And I believe they ran on Goodyears NCT or Wingfoot tires whether it be due to licensing or heritage. I also remember the same applied to the "NEW" serpentine belt was also a Goodyear product. There was at one time a article or bulletin with part numbers, quantities etc...on all the changes or mods done to them to safely and reliably maintain the speeds at the track.

Default real Indy 1979 pace car info

Goodyear Wingfoot chosen for political reasons/sponsor/promotional consideration reasons.
Serpentine 20% underdrive pulleys were used.

"Besides the engine modifications the car also featured strobe lights in the fog and tail lights and a custom made t-top configuration (only a pop-up sunroof was available on the replica) was created to give the crowd and photographers a better view of the interior and driver as the car circles the track at the start of the race.
