Is it beneficial to run an electric fan after the engine is off ? I just wired one of mine to a toggle switch. Just wondering if it makes a difference to cool the radiator even though the coolant isn't circulating?

It's not going to hurt anything (well other than maybe your battery life! ) but as you stated the amount of cooling without coolant circulating will be minimal if the fan runs for just a few minutes after shutting it off.
Definitely not a bad idea, just not sure if you will see any huge benefit. Good Luck!

my wiring insulation started to crumble. hooked the fan to a thermostat. also opened the gap from the hood to the fenders. seemed to stop the insulation problem. which is what I wanted.
How did you go about wiring the toggle switch? Im in the process of wiring one but having trouble with it.
