......However, replacement sheet metal will also have a month and year code, such as 9 85 (September 1985) , preceding the regular date code.
All other major sheet is also reverse stamped. If its got the preceding suplemented date code, or evidence someone has tried to obliterate it, its service replacement sheet metal.
Many Americans have done there ASME Non Destructive Testing for surface metods tickets for steel, its really easy to find if someone has tried to pass it off as a period part.
