For simplicity sake, it's hard to beat a rollerized C4. Plentiful parts that won't break the bank at that power level.

Wasnt in a fox but I had a 88 ranger with a 2.3t and c4 that ran 11.20s and made 382 rwhp. I wrecked it in a crash at the track so Im building a better Ranger now with double the power.. Loved the c4 over the t5 in mine. A good custom converter is a MUST.

Looking in to a C4 at this point, what are the details on your C4 build? Gears/etc...

I built mine with all PA performance internals. It has a 6 pinion planetary, extra clutches, their reverse pattern full manual trans brake valvebody {a MUST have},deep aluminum pan with temp gauge and I had PTC build me a custom 10" 4500 stall converter. Truck only had 3.55 gears {street cruiser} and a tiny 26x8" slick. Best 60ft was a 1.58

Keeping it cool was the key issue with such a small fluid capacity even with the aftermarket pan. I like to run True Street and with 3 back to back to back passes the temps get up there fast with no down time to cool off.

    Dog Ring G Forces for me ... I have a 2,92 1st gear helical, and a 3.22 1st gear straight cut.

My junk is low 10's at 135 mph kind of stuff.
