    Default Undercoating Recommendations

What has everyone been using for the restorations? I saw WraithRacing using Speedline (spray on) on his, but I need something that brushes on. Summit Racing has 1-gallon of Rust-Oleum for $62, Dupli-Color for $63, and Por-15 for $112. I don't want the mess of spray on, nor have the equipment for it if it's not in aerosol form.

I am not aware of any decent brush on undercoating. Virtually all of it will be spray on to get the thickness and texture that you want.

What exactly do you want the undercoating to do for you and the vehicle? That will help to determine what will be the best option.

Perhaps I am overthinking it. Add a layer of protection to the bottom of the car. It has no rust anywhere and I just scrubbed it clean a couple weeks ago. I was just thinking of preventing anything from starting while I have the option to do so.

If you just need a coating to be safe, then there are plenty of those from Eastwood, Summit, POR 15.

I like the urethane bedliner material for a "Driver" as it adds a bit more protection and very easy to clean off even if you don't take care of that all that often.

I like the U Pol "Raptor" spray on bedliner material as another option. It comes in liter bottles and there is a spray nozzle that attaches to them for application. So easy to apply especially on the underside. You can get it in black a couple other colors IIRC or you can tint it with automotive tints or paint. Very similar to the Speedliner I used on mine. I think a 4 or 5 liter kit is @ $120 online most of the time in Black or untinted. Sometimes I have seen it as low as $100. Depending on how thick you want to apply the material, you should be able to do the entire underside of your Fox with 4 or 5 liters if not less. Again up to you on how much you spray. I ended up putting about 1.5 gallons on my GT, but I also wanted to make sure I had everything covered well, especially around my SFC and bracing. Hope that helps!
