    Default Spoiler for BB Capri

After reading the thread "1986 Mercury Capri Project " it had me wondering if there is a aftermarket spoiler that will fit Capri BB and look like it belongs there.

Asc is the best option imo...

ASC Mclaren is about the only option.

Unfortunately there were other options back in the mid to late 80's when the cars were new, but with the Capri discontinued after '86 as a Fox Body and the limited number of them produced in the first place, there wasn't much of an aftermarket to support many options.

The only other option is to make your own if you have the time and the skills. That is my plan!

Will take a look at Asc and search for a used one. Thinking of adding to my car but depending on total cost to install ect. Thanks for the information.

I haven't looked at a new one in awhile, but I believe New you are talking between $300 and $400 depending on shipping, etc. for the Mclaren unit.

They do come up for sale used occasionally, but usually go FAST! Good Luck!

Does anyone here have the skills to make a mold from one that could be used to make a fiberglass or some other version? I have this dealer optioned spoiler on my 83 that could be loaned for the purpose...Name: 83TurboRS.jpg

If your on Facebook there is a guy "James Varner" who is making Capri hoods & fenders out of fiberglass, he may might be the one to get a hold of.

I can make a mold to replicate the spoiler out of fiberglass or carbon fiber. The biggest issues with something like this is return on investment. Are there enough people that want to buy one and at a price that allows you to recoup the investment in the mold and then pays you for your time to make the actual spoilers.

I do like the spoiler! It appears to be an exaggerated version of the Mclaren. I believe Dobi made one similar to that, but I might be mistaken. If you can post some close up pictures of the spoiler so we can drool!

This is a guy in Idaho that made a duckbill style from a Porsche spoiler. I believe he sectioned it and made the center stretch to fit the width.
