    Default Pebbles in muffler?

Replacing the WAY too loud Flowmasters with Magnaflows. When I took the drivers side muffler off, I heard rattling inside. I turned it on end and shook out a bunch of black "pebbles". The passenger side had no rattles or pebbles.

Is this from the catalytic converter coming apart? The car still has the original H-pipe & all 4 cats.

Or just take them off if the law allows. ☺

Well... In the US, Federal law never allows. Your state may not check, but that's not the same thing.

That said, Doug, those pebbles don't appear to have any honeycomb features, so I'd say you need to look up inside
the H-pipe on that side from the rear, and see what the rear-most catalyst bed looks like.

Might be a great time to go to a larger H pipe with cats and some upgraded shorty headers.

Or is you like a bit more European sound an X with cats.

Id make someone a great deal my MAC 2.5" X with cats - I don't prefer it compared to an H pipe.

Thanks everyone. Looks like a new catted H-pipe is in my future. Wonder if I can sneak some headers past Mrs. DougTx while I'm at it...

Heck - buy some used ones off craigslist.

    Equal shorties work out good.

If they came out the tailpipes you may have some strays in your mufflers. They will rattle also...
