Hi Guys, Very long time car guy, but first time owning a mustang. After a very long & distant search, I recently purchased a one owner 83 GT & will hopefully be on the fast track to getting educated on its idiosyncrasies. My strengths of knowledge of been with mostly GM vehicles & I am quickly figuring out how similar, but different many things are. Excited to move forward with the mustang. Learning, but hopefully at some point contributing some things to the forum!

Lesson #1- not having the distributor crammed into the firewall, over a hot engine, with 10lbs of crap including the coil in a 5lb bag, is almost reason enough to get away from GM. Seriously, though, welcome aboard.

...... unless you have a 2.8 V6 which isnt too bad, it is the spark plug under the alternator that makes me swear !

That's funny but so true. A pain to change or to set TDC even.
