    Default keeping front rims clean

I have an 84 convertible with 10 hole rims.

The rears are always clean and fronts are filthy from brake dust. Even when I rubbed them out with brasso and aluminum mag polish they never get as clean as the rears.

Anybody have suggestions for a good way to clean and polish front rims and keep them clean? Clear coat?

    Fix your rear brakes.

Put better brake pads on up front. Ceramic is your friend - hit up performance friction.

Go to 4 wheel disc brakes in back

I bought dust shields 10 years ago for my 10-holes and turbines. Keeps them very clean of brake dust. Also wax your wheels, helps a lot with clean up.

I like that. They are a bit pricey. maybe theres a less expensive option for dust covers out there.

If cleaning the wheels takes so much time due to the brake dust. I would think $44 per axle would be a cheap solution to the problem.

If they saved you an hour or two of your time in cleaning they have paid for themselves.

Although I agree, I would consider better quality brake pads up front to start with. NO I don't mean the McParts store brands either!

Yeah this is the next project. I have a thump in my brakes so this is a good reason to pull them off, replace with top quality pads, cut the rotors, clean the front wheels and put on a pair of dust shields. I found some cheaper ones on ebay. I hope they don't look to cheesy since they can be seen through the holes in the rims.

Theres a wheel place near me called Wheel Fix It. They do all things to aluminum rims including cleaning. I think Im gonna have all 4 professionally cleaned, then i'll clear coat them as well.

Im painting the car this summer so I want it to stay sharp looking.

Actually if its $43 for a pair that's not bad at all. I thought it was for one.
