Default One more picture of the hatch

I got my hatch home and set the spoiler on it for a more accurate before and after picture. The hatch is a little dusty right now.Name: IMG_0660.jpg

I was going to put it on the car, but I seemed to have lost my hinges. I'll get another set from the salvage yard.

Sleep is easy, it's where I dream up ideas on how to buy all of the stuff I still need.

The red car will be going into storage shortly so I can focus on finishing my blue car. Once it's a driver, then I'll be back on the red one.

I got the fender extensions painted finally. I will sand these down with 800 and reclear. They got some dirt in them (I had to shove them in a corner of the booth while I painted customer stuff).Name: IMG_3099.jpg

Dammit man! TWO awesome cars. Now you're showing off! That's freaking awesome! I don't see how you have the time to do what you do!

love the chosen colors... and love the glossy hood stripe/headlight buckets! Will you do a gloss finish on the bodyside mouldings as well? and will they be body color or stripe color? I'm contemplating getting into another 4-eye. My first was an '86 GT 'vert. Would love to coyote-swap one, & finish in a candy blue with charcoal metallic stripe & trim... and some red pinstriping to match the red piping on the seats!

Body side mouldings will be red and glossy. There are a lot of pretty blues to be had. I'm putting Kona Blue on my '83.

    Default Rear Bumper

The rear bumper, not the cover. I originally was going to replace it. But I had some spare time today.....

Some time in the red car's past someone had pulled on the rear of the car to get it out a ditch or something. Anyway, they hooked up to the rear bumper and tweaked it outName: IMG_3143.jpg

since I had some spare time today I warmed it up a little and beat the metal back into shape.Name: IMG_3148.jpg

I stripped it, then etched and primered it. Maybe I'll paint it tomorrowName: IMG_3157.jpg

    Dave,

You're doing some beautiful work here. On both of your cars for that matter. Can't wait to see more progress.

    Your paintwork looks awesome.
Is there anything nicer than freshly painted parts?

    It’s gone, sad to say.

I got the car originally from my brother, now it’s back with him.

it became clear to me I couldn’t afford to build two nice fox bodies off a painters income.

My ‘83 will be having more money dumped into it than I should. With just one car though I can focus into it being a much more satisfying build. It’ll get all the options I want to put into a car. I decided to keep the blue one simply because it’s a t-top coupe.

My brother got esophageal cancer a while back and finished chemo and radiation therapy a couple weeks ago. Then he developed a real bad infection that had him in the hospital for over a week. So the red car is sitting in his shop with the hopes that he’ll make it through all his physical ailments. If his cancer takes him, I’m not sure what will become of the car.

With his illness and other immediate issues I’ve had I haven't done anything lately. That should be changing here within the next month or so. Lots of really cool plans, I just need to get life out of the way first.

I hope your brother weathers this storm and pulls thru. I wouldn't feel bad about not doing anything until you're sure he is doing better!

The work on the red car is beautiful. I can't believe I somehow missed out on this thread until now.

I hope your brother kicks cancer's ass and the hatchback keeps him in a place mentally where it's a lot less miserable.

One thing so you are aware - you don't have to do all of that to fit a 315. I've posted details on another thread that would be well suited to 315's on your coupe without so much extra effort to fit them.

Ive enjoyed seeing your work. Thanks for sharing.
