Further down in the ad it states 132k. Cleans up nicely though!

I went to college with a guy that had that exact car, T tops, TRX and all. It was identical. Crazy. I liked it then because even then I liked different and unusual.

It's so ugly that it's pretty. If that paint is original and is as nice as it looks in the pics, that would be a cool one to have.

I'd say that is original paint. I mean think about it...if you owned that car in the past 20-30 years and it needed a repaint for some reason would you really re-spray it in TURD BROWN?! Like the one I owned back in 1987, I bet most of the cars this color got repainted in a typical color, like red or black.

Jason, good point about the unlikely respray. I particularly like the oddball colors, especially if they fit the definition of "period correct." There are examples in the 80's, but the concept goes at least back to the 50's. Remember the bright colors and two-tones then? And how about the muscle car era? Lime Gold on Fords and Plum Crazy on Chryslers certainly fit their era.

My 82 Capri was tu-tone....turd brown with cream center section. A P/O painted the brown to red, and the cream to gold so it was a tu-tone red/gold when I owned it. Later a buddy I sold it to painted it all red.

A whole lot of pictures, yet not ONE single picture of the Engine Compartment. Once again a case of detailing does not a nice car make, they are hiding something, and something big. Makes no sense to exclude the engine otherwise, yes those are nice tires that you greased up, but I want to see what actually powers the car. Not the faded vinyl, and worn steering wheel, or two pictures needed to show Mercury and Capri, why not just one rear shot that shows both ? Because you are hiding something. They are trying to draw attention to the "good" and hope that no one looks any further.

Also no picture of the floor showing pedal wear.

Lol he writes 32k Original Miles, nobody here questions it, but when a FEP person posts their mileage, you get called a liar.

Actually, the ad says 32k odometer (which is true) and in the text 132k miles.

That is correct....nothing really misleading about it. 32k on the ODO and 132k in the ad, stated by the seller, and backed up by paperwork included with the car. BTD....I just spent 30 minutes with this car, so stay tuned and you will get the pictures

My overall opinion, this a great car that is hiding NOTHING. Is it a $6500 car, probably not but if it could be had for $4-5k it is a great car to either get in and drive today, or tinker with over time to detail out or bring back to more show condition. The car has $1500 worth of Coker 200/60/390 TRX rubber from 2011 (yes, incorrect size) so it can be driven today. It started right up and ran/sounded just like my 14k mile 82 GT. It still has original (or OEM correct) single exhaust. The car has NO rust that I could see in any of the usually places. It is apparent (besides the dash pad faded out to black) that this car spend more time in it's 35 years indoors, rather than outdoors.

The car obviously has 132k, proven by the documentation. There is a record with it that logged every oil change at approx every 3k miles from day one, well beyond 32k miles....all the way through 100k and currently 132k. The clutch pedal is obvious at 132k, not 32k. Amazingly, the carpet and drivers seat do not look like 132k. So the car obviously lived a well cared for life by one owner, with floor mats in place. The driver seat has two areas that are torn, which is surprisingly less wear that I would expect for 132k, so the guy was obviously careful when getting in and out of the car. The passenger seat and rear seat look to me like they were NEVER sat in!! That, or they were sat in VERY rarely. The seats of this car, with a good upholster to repair the two sections on the driver seat could be used for years to come for either driver or show duty.

The interior panels have a lot of typical fade, so if a show car is desired there will be some dye work on the plastic and dash pad. Only one small imperfection in the passenger speaker grill of the dash pad....so that can be repaired. Original twin post radio still in the dash. T-tops will need new seals, but looking at the door panels you can tell the car did not sit outside much and get water logged. T-tops are also tinted on the inside and peeling/cracking...so that will need cleaned off.

The engine bay looks mostly original, with what appears to be the original radiator. It still had the 2bbl carb, and OEM correct replacement grey plug wires. Doesn't appear to have any mods under the hood.

The paint is where I struggle....not that it matters. I BELIEVE the car has been repainted at some point, although I could not find any obvious tape/masking lines. My reason....the paint is WAY to glossy to be 35 yrs old, and on the decklid an roof I see some obvious inconsistencies in the level of "metallic" in the brown. The paint is REALLY smooth and deep...which really appears to be base/clear IMO. The bumpers have typical paint fade so they don't perfectly match the body panels. Not a deal breaker as whoever buys this car is probably going to do a repaint to make it really nice all around.

Thats about all I can think of off hand. Stay tuned as I will post up detailed pics over a few threads. Keep in mind they are from a cell phone and I could not crawl under the car, so they are as good as I could get.
