Looks superb, great job. Did you tint the rear tail lights?

Looks great! I love the lowered stance with the slight rake! The orange side stripe exaggerates it just right too.

Nice weather is upon us! Drive 'em while you can!

Thanks everyone. Does anyone know what the right colour pinstripes I need for the mouldings. It’s an orange but I’d like to order the correct colour before application.

Looking great. Would you mind going through the steps on that air cleaner lid?

As for the taillights, I only polished them with a power polisher

To restore the air cleaner, I sandblasted the entire lower assembly, followed by sanding it with 320 grit sandpaper. I the used a semi flat black paint on the lower assembly.

For the top piece, I sanded it with 320, followed by 600 grit sandpaper. I then used a bench grinder with a polishing pad, similar to what people use to polish stainless steel mouldings. Once it was complete, I used red scotchbright to give it a factory type finish. Now I am waiting for the decals and remaining parts for final assembly.

Absolutely beautiful. I wish I had the time, money, and talent to pull that off! Congrats. I know it's been a journey for you!

    One take
I have a Cobra and the hood decal is 3M material. Is black, orange, red. Molding pinstripes are red.
Several brands of orange vinyl tape are available. 3M is called Bright Orange.
Bright Orange and Tomato Red match the oem graphic colors real close (when new).

Never seen a roll with the correct factory stripe spacing.
My molding stripes are 1/16, 1/8 middle gap, 1/16. Should be the same as pace car.
Most orange colors (oops Canadian..colours) i see on pace cars do not exactly match each other. Graphics and molding pinstripes.

Pinstripes fade and wear out after a while. Especially the front bumper cover stripes on a dd.
What i do when re-striping is to buy 1/2" solid color striping, in my case Red, 25' roll.
Double stripe would be 50' roll.
Then use 1/8" black pinstripe, centered on the 1/2" tape, to mimic the gap.
Way easier to get the stripe to look straight, rather than try to align and gap two separate stripes evenly. Peel, repeal....
Am also using reflective Red since its a black car. Side and rear cover moldings really glow at night for traffic safety.
Could also opt for reflective 1/8" Black center (shows as white at night).
Leaving the 1/2" stripe as is, without any center blackout, looks good too like the later Aero GTs had.

Whatever way, its artwork. Pace Cars have hood and over roof graphics/paint combo done so right cool.

Pace Car looks great! Very nice work!

As stated above, not sure you will find a specific Orange pinstripe for the PC. I am sure you can get a pretty good match, but most likely will need to go to an Automotive Paint supplier and look at their books to find the right Orange. I do agree on the 1/2" solid color with the centered black pinstripe as I have not seen the correct spacing in most offerings. If you want to do the twin pinstripes, here is one offering for you, but again from a US vendor. https://lmr.com/item/LRS-70268SK/mus...t-orange-79-84 Good Luck!

Thanks everyone. I am dealing with my auto body supplier for stripes.

I noticed my engine would begin to run hot when I idled it. I replaced my lower underdrive pulley and it seems to be better. The added bonus is that the belt squeal is almost gone.

If classic auto sound would only send me my radio I’d be happy. The good news is that retro sound seems like a stand up company. I spoke to them and they confirmed that they just received my radio and it was not working. They sent a new one back to classic autosound for me. Classic autosound won’t return my calls or emails so with any luck, I will get my replacement for Christmas.

Your Pace car looks so good. I remember seeing that just before any interior was installed. Now she looks amazing completed.

Your car looks amazing. Great work on bringing it back to former glory (or better). I’m amazed at the talent/skills so many of the guys on this forum have!

This weekend I had to decide whether I built an arc or work on my car. My neighborhood has a few boats so I felt working on the car would be fine. I replaced the wheel hubs on the front of the car, replaced my brake pads (the ones on it were squealing), installed a radio and fabricated a faceplate for it.

I have a feeling the radio will be in there all summer, all I need to do is get my cassettes out again.

There are cassette to blue-tooth adapters available. I've never used one, but perhaps that is a good way to exploit that in dash radio.

The latest on my stereo is that they are negotiating with retro sound to become the only dealer in Canada. With the service I’ve received, I hope they don’t succeed. The latest is they may return my funds to me. I noticed someone on Facebook rebuilds original radios so I may look at that option

On a lighter note, our car club is going to have a virtual car show.

Here is one of the pictures I hope they use.

    Stereo, the latest.

Well after 6 months of waiting for an answer on my stereo, classic autosound is returning my funds. For some strange reason, they are not distributing retro sound stereo anymore.

    I wonder why?

I put a blue tooth amp under the passenger seat and wired it to the speakers instead of the stock head unit. Now can listen off my iPhone
