    Feeling frustrated.

Again this weekend I worked on my brake kit and am stopped waiting for parts. I did manage to install the rear brake system and emergency brakes. The emergency brakes are easy to install on a pace car. No welding or fabrication work required. It took 1/2 hour to install and most of that time was trying to understand what needed welding. As it turns out, nothing is required.

Here is a picture of my rear brake hose.

Can anyone tell me what front brake hoses fit on the big brake kit? I was informed the 87-93 fit but don’t think they do. I plan on ordering the maximum Motorsport front hoses just in case.

    Thanks everyone.

I know everyone has been anxiously waiting for an update. While I was waiting for parts, I’ve been working on our house. I finally began working on the car again now that parts started to arrive. First, I purchased a good brake flaring tool that actually works. I modified some of the brakes lines and it actually worked. Then I purchased a set of front brake lines and bled the brakes. Voila, everything finally works. Still waiting for a couple of brake lines from maximum Motorsport but it’s working now.

    A bit of a pickle.

I purchased a maximum Motorsport clutch and cable for the pace car. I knew it might need some work to fit but it isn’t even close to the newer cable design. Has anyone been able to make this work without replacing the whole assembly?

I don't believe there is any really workable way to make the MM setup work if you are using the original pedal box. The simple solution IMHO is to replace the pedal box with the 82-93 style which is what I did on my Pace Car when I did my 5.0/5 speed swap.

I took Treys advice and installed the maximum Motorsports clutch cable quadrant before installing the pedal box, good advice.

Now I,an on cleaning up the wiring before me engine and transmission appear. Most people seem to hide the starter solenoid and such. I plan on keeping them exposed and will just hide the lighting wires.

Now I’m trying to install maximum Motorsport firewall adjuster on my pace car. Am I missing something or do I have to enlarge the opening

Early birthday presents. I started to order parts before our dollar hits the low expected this summer against the USA currency. I now have the transmission, clutch and pressure plate, cross member, headers, March brackets and pulleys and some other small parts.

NOW I know where all my parts went!

Nice birthday present to yourself. I wish I would have thought of doing the same when I hit the BIG 50 last month.

I guess we’re growing old but still acting young. I passed that point a few years ago.

It’s unfortunate they ordered the wrong cross member.

Oh no, that is frustrating when you are getting ready to put it all in!

Project is still coming along nicely though!

Still waiting for the engine. I hear it ran 420 hp on the dyno and is set to arrive next week.

While I am waiting for my miracle engine, I decided to install my new tank and sending unit. I originally planned on adding a return line in the tank but will install it on the filler neck instead has anyone done this before and are there any issues doing that?

Is this an original size early tank or is it the slightly larger? Interested in whether you went with the larger and any of the mods made to get it to fit. If the earlier, what did you use for a sending unit? I understand 79 was specific and not reproduced.

Getting closer. Now open the engine box and post a picture of the contents!

This is an original tank. I purchased the sending unit from CJ Pony Parts and paid my first born for it. I asked for a kiss because I got screwed on the price but no one else has any available.

A few more pieces of information if you buy from CG pony parts. If you buy the tank straps ask for the bolts that hold it in at the rear of the car. I couldn’t find them on their website but they are available. The tank straps came with one which they told me wasn’t supposed to be in the kit. To send another one was too expensive So I had to use the newer style for one side and it seem to work.
