I found someone to drill out the holes for the tie rod ends. I’m still not happy with maximum Motorsport. They have excellent introductions but it’s all in separate manuals. On to the good news, the machinist did and excellent job and everything fit well.

It appears that you are going to want to loosen those spindle bolts up and put some load out on the end of hub to get some initial camber in a range wherever you can adjust it into spec.

    great progress on your build!

I’ve asked maximum Motorsports to provide me some basic settings for the car. It might be a while before I can provide them with my height etc. I’ll let everyone know how good the basic settings are.

Out family went to Cabo for Christmas. While it was good, I didn’t have much opportunity to work on the car. I did manage to fix my quarter panel to door adjustment. When I installed the new quarter panel, I used the door as the reference point. I was lucky enough to purchase rust free doors but the driver side door didn’t fit well. I finally took the plunge and performed some reconstructive surgery.

Another great winter day up north. We received 6” of snow today so I worked in the garage between shoveling. I prepped and painted the drivers door and door jamb.

    No kidding!

I'm curious on the masking on the jamb to the body and how you mask it later when you do the exterior. I did not perform well on the last one I did. When I painted jambs first and then exterior on our Tangerine car and had/have some overspray/transition spots I rather not.

Or mask and spray to a hard line or edge on the body. That will prevent the average person from being able to tell where you had to do a respray.

Thanks guys, I hope to use a combination of foam taper regular tape with a rolled edge. I hope it works.

This weekend was to continue painting doors and fenders. If only I had a larger garage.

The paint even matches and it seems close to the original colour (colour for my Americans).

No, he got it right, you folks need to learn to spell properly. But I'll do you a favour and won't belabour the point. After all we need to be neighbourly.

Question for everyone. What paint is everyone using for the black on the bottom of these cars? I was contemplating SEM black as I’ve used it before. What works well and what doesn’t?

I used an off the shelf satin black from Arnold motor supply. I believe they said it was ppg. As far as correct, I'm not sure, but it looks good to me, and half the price. It is a single stage

The lower black paint should be a satin/matte finish. You can spray a single stage urethane trim type paint that has been flattened when mixed. The other option is a bc/cc with the clear coat being flattened for the correct sheen. Either work well and dealer's choice. I personally would probably go single stage being that the color is just black.

I had an opportunity to talk to my auto body supplier today. They recommended ditzler hot rod black. It’s a single stage satin black that should work well with my pace car. Now does anyone know where I should paint black on the inside of the doors? My pictures of the door jambs are pretty clear for me, I just don’t know if I can reach the doors in the snow covered shed.

If someone has pictures it would be appreciated.

Christmas came late this year. I purchased rear control arms and a big brake kit for the mustang. Unfortunately there are no instructions that came with the kit. In the meantime I’m installing some of it while I wait for the differential overhaul with new 3.55 gears.

    Some of the parts

The tube on the steering column is a sleeve that will collapse slightly in an accident. You may need to use a piece of 2x4 and a rubber mallet, but the column should collapse down enough for the steering shaft to fit properly.

Worse case, pull the column out and stand it on the steering wheel and work the sleeve. You can actually yank it off, clean the inside and the column then add a little grease and re-assemble. That should allow it to slide a bit easier. I do that to many of mine and will be doing the same to Erratic50's Saleen Clone column.
