    Default Broken shifter cable

I have an 84 5.0 and I broke the short cable in the shifter that operates the reverse/park lock out. Is this a part that I can still acquire or do I have to make one. Every time I try to look it up all I get is the long cable that go's to the transmission. Thank you

Are you talking about the white plastic thing that's inside the shifter handle?

I don't think you can buy that part anywhere anymore. Pretty sure that is the same cable my buddy 85asc239 on here had break on his Mclaren a year or two ago... he had to buy a used shifter to fix it.

Yes it's the short cable. Approx 8 in or so. I see you can get one for an older mustang but I guess I will try to make one. Thanks
