Default Gold Cad Master Cylinder Cover Restoration

Thought I would try out Eastwoods Gold CAD restoration Kit on my master cylinder cover.

First I used Eastwoods Gel Rust Remover to clean the rust off:

Then cleaned of with PRE to prep it for paint

You paint it in three steps. First the Gold layer, then a light layer of Red, then final a light layer of Green.
Go lightly with all three if you want it to look natural. I went way too heavy the first time and ended up stripping eveything off and doing it again.

    1st attempt

    2nd attempt

Final product after I topped it with clear coat to hopefully make it last!

That actually looks really good! I need to get around to doing something like this. My MC is rusted looking.

    Good work.

I have used this process on many parts over the years. I think it works fairly well. My main issue is that the red and green accents seem to disappear, and rather quickly. I have used clear, which seems to help some, but not much. I would be curious to hear your comments in a few months on how it looks. Perhaps your technique/luck will be better.
