Finally got the bubble hatch on. Bumper and tails is next. A simple hatch can make a car look like a completely different car.

Boy it does change the looks! I like it though
Haven't really been doing much to this thing lately. I bought a Turbo kit that never showed up so I've spent the last couple months trying to get my money back, which left a bad taste in my mouth for cars in general. I finally got the refund for it so I'm back at it.
Been cleaning up and reworking the replacement engine I got. Just have to swap over the distributor, plug wires, oil pressure sensor, rails and injectors, and the wiring harness from the old engine. And still need to put a new oil pan on it. Will likely be doing all of that this weekend. I really just want to get the engine in so I can have a running and driving project again, then I'll figure out the next steps.

Sometimes buying parts are painful. Being from a small city in Alberta, we either drive for parts or order.
As for the hatch, I realize it’s a personal thing regarding the Look. I liked them, especially with the spoiler. It is like a 70’s camero without the spoiler, it just didn’t look complete without it. Here is mine with the spoiler.
Great progress.
I like to see the cars how they were intended for sure.
The spoiler adds so much - is the way to go.
It seems like few can leave well-enough alone when it comes to these cars. I drove my 86GT as built factory for 18 years and racked up nearly 1/2 million miles. Now after all these years I have started throwing mods at it. It's whatever your dream is really. If your not too radical it's easy to put back to stock.
A part of me wants to nut and bolt part by part restore my 86GT to its factory new condition. "Stock never goes out of style". Another part of me wants to go off on it and make it the rocketship and corner carving monster a four eyed fox is assumed to never be. And as those who know my car know- so far, the going off on it guy is winning. Lol
We will see if I feel differently about the direction I've went so far on my 86 once my 85 Saleen clone is good and properly gone off on..... on a budget.
Gratz on the project, the car is looking great! You won't regret putting the factory hatch back on there, I get more looks in my car because of the hatch. It is what makes the Capri a Capri!

I'm moving in one week so I've had to actually work on getting all the parts I want into the car so I can haul it. Made some decent progress today.
