Thread: no start

    Default no start

So I am finally getting my GT350 Put back together after 10 years apart and I can't get it to start, looking for some advice. The engine turns over and will run on an alternate fuel source but will not off of the factory fuel system. After running through diagnostics on it I have found the injectors will not fire, the have voltage but no fire signal from the ecm. Fuel pressure is good at 38. I have tested all three grounds and power circuits at the cement which are good and tried two other known good ecm's and still have nothing. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for the help!

Not sure if its related or not but if you depress the gas pedal to the floor that automatically shuts off the injectors. Maybe the ecu is getting that signal for some reason....
If you blink at the end of the straight away you'll miss the twisties and what fun would that be!

The ECU does receive a signal from the pip/tfi that tells it when to ground the injectors. Try loosening the distributor hold down bolt and with the key on, rotate the distributor as far as it will go in both directions. If you don't hear the injectors click than u know one of those 2 may be bad.
Have u checked for codes? This may also point you in the right direction

Thanks for the info guys. With a noid light in the injector connector, if I rotate the distributor a quarter turn forwards and back every forth cycle the light will flash but the injector will not fire. Tips is set at .98 volts. Have not pulled codes yet. Have tested the ecm on another car and they run fine. This thing is driving me nuts. Did a pin out test on every wire to ECM today with ford manual all powers and grounds are good. I do have three wires by the ecm In question two are y/r one black. Manual shows y/r to black splitting to y/r for SVO but no way to connect all three. This is an SVO harness and ECM.

If you turn the distributor and the noid light illuminates at the same place every time, than the ECU is triggering the injectors to fire. If it only does it once and awhile, you have a problem with the pickup or tfi, since u say u tested the wiring. Maybe your injectors are just not firing due to them not being used in many years. Gm injectors are notorious for gumming up and then just not firing. Old gas can do terrible things to the fuel system

Wow, checked all the pin outs but haven't ran codes?

Start with the simple easy stuff. You only need a paper clip to run codes, need a tool box to pull apart the interior and swap computers.

No codes when tested. Pinout test wasn't that bad since the car has been completely disassembled to a bare shell and is going back together.

It runs! Original injectors were bad. Must have been some fuel left in them that gummed them up over the years. Thanks for the help and replies.
