Default Putting a/c back in my 85 Mustang - 351w

Am I correct in saying that the 351 block that is in my Mustang is the same as a 302 block?

The car came with a/c originally, but it was removed when the 351 was installed. I am wondering if I buy an a/c compressor bracket and a power steering bracket to mount in the lower position, will be it that simple. Obviously I will have to by evaporator, compressor and condenser and such but the brackets are my main concern for now.

    Thanks

351 block is taller than the 302. I'm pretty sure one of the brackets involved has to bolt to a water pump stud on one end and the compressor on the other end which will be a larger distance on the 351. Hopefully someone can either suggest something else that will work or prove me wrong.

Thank you. I appreciate the info.

That info helped, LMR makes the bracket I need. Can't use the stock one. Thanks

The large A/C bracket is all you need to make the swap. All the other parts are the stock 5.0 A/C brackets etc.

Not sure if that is the FRPP, but that is who originally made it.

    Perfect, thank you!

I'm guessing that's going to be the easiest part of the install.

Is there more than just the a/c compressor wiring harness under the hood of an 85 GT that's factory equipped with a/c. I am thinking about buying this from LMR https://lmr.com/item/LRS-19703A-K/mu...rsion-8385-50l but they don't mention anything about the wiring. Thanks

On my 84, there was a bunch of wiring that went to the A/C system that I deleted since mine is factory non A/C. On the D/S side of the engine bay, you have the compressor wiring, throttle cutout and associated wiring. On the P/S you have some pressure switches. Under the dash you have the relays and HVAC control wiring.

I know it's not really descriptive, but there is a fair amount of wiring that controls this system.

If you want to simplify I have seen people delete the cut off switch on the throttle and / or just use a micro switch wired to the AC clutch. Doing that you only need the clutch wire and the low pressure switch under the hood.

That's an answer I was hoping or looking for.

    Thank you!
