Default 1987-1993 Body Side Molding Issue

Looking at a 92 LX. The body side moldings on the door, and the two sections just front/rear of the door appear have some "splotchiness" in the color, and they are rather sticky all over. Its only those three pieces each side. The bumper moldings, and the moldings in front of front wheel and behind rear wheel are perfect.

Its kind of like what a 4-eye dash feels like when it starts to break down after years of being in the sun. Anyone know what this is, and can it be cleaned off with any chemical...or do they need to be stripped/sanded/painted or replaced? Are those moldings readily available or hard to come by like the 4-eye body side moldings?

The aero moldings are readily available through the normal part distributors. I'd try to clean the moldings with some Goof-Off or other residue remover and see how they turn out.

Turns out WD-40 can add another one to their extensive list

I spent 15 minutes on the DS moldings yesterday....WD-40 and a rag with a bit of elbow grease, and the discoloration and stickiness is gone. They look good as new.
