Default 1985 GT Convertible New guy

    Hi all,

Just bought my second GT. This is a 1985 Gt Convertible 5.0 TBI
Bone stock except for the Welds and Pypes Exhaust
Going to be needing some assistance with a idling problem and a hesitation on throttle.

    Welcome !!
Aggressive looking stance. Don't see many foxes with the rear lifted.
    Enough room for 30" rubber!!

    Welcome.

our members zap, Matt J and fgross have dealt with this system with inputs from some of the best experts who have these cars themselves.

The CFI is speed density, so its ultra sensitive to idel. After tracking down multiple codes, the answer is checking each one in turn. Once you've seen others deal with the same matters, and conquer it, you won't mind the system as much.

MAP sensor and EGR has to be working, and TFI has to be set up right. Choke pull down has a hand vac pump requirement.

Best posts IMHO are zap's and fgross's.

never also proves that the system can run even with the 89 roller cam and big exhaust...not well, but run and sound sensational.

Yeah that's going to change. The guy i bought it off of put air shocks on it because the rear tires are rubbing the qtrs. It rides like a truck.
