Default New Guy Here!!! 1979 German Mustang.

What's up guy's I feel like I finally found a forum where I fit in. My build has taken many years. The story starts out when I was young Private in the Army stationed in Germany I was taking Automotive classes with Central Texas College. I noticed a Mustang shaped car under a crappy car cover. I asked the teacher who's car it was. He replied that it was his sons. So during the duration of my classes and through much coercion I convinced the teacher to ask his son if he would sell it to me. Finally after months of conversations and a lot of good German Beer I got him to sell it to me. I scored the four eyed beast for a whopping 1500$. It had a crappy paint job and didn't look very healthy, but she had a nice 302 and I knew I could dress her up for prom. I shipped her to my friends body shop in Rhode Island from Germany where she started an all metal restoration. Everything came off her, stripped down to her panties and bra. She began her long journey to celebrity status. I had all glass removed and replaced, a complete undercarriage restoration and paint, new paint to her body. When she was finished she looked stunning like my prom date from high school, a little scared but ready to give me what I wanted. Did I mention she was a Cologne Germany Mustang, yup she has a German Vin Tag. She is one of a kind. I currently live in Hawaii. So this girl is a world traveler. She was built in America, Shipped to Cologne Germany, I shipped her to the East Coast for restoration ten just last year shipped her to Hawaii where I reside. This journey started in 2007 it's been 10 years and I am finally enjoying her.

Could you post pics of the door tag and the buck tag in the Decoding forum? I am curious is either has export or T5 markings or codes. Thanks.

I think this was one of the first Mustangs that could wear the name Mustang n Germany back in 79. I have some better shots I will get out soon. Haven't had a chance to take some beach shots with her yet but very soon. Thanks guy's for positive feedback.

Based from the vin/cun that this is not going to be a T5 AND that is says MUSTANG on the tag. With the metal tag I would bet this was originally ordered or sold through a dealer and not PX ordered if it has the correct DSO number.

Overall nice looking car and WELCOME!

Thanks Guys, I will send some better pics soon, She has been around the world, literally. I will grab a pic of the door tag tonight. Originally it was a V6. She has a 302 now matched to a C4 with shifter kit, mild cam, 10:1 comp, hydraulic lifters, moly rockers, 89 rear end, long tube headers to H pipe Mac exhaust. Holley 650cfm, edelbrock intake. I will post some more pics soon.
