Default New 4 Eye owner from NJ

Hello everyone, Got my first 4 eye a week ago. Got an amazing deal. Not my first Mustang. Its a black 1986 convertible GT. It has 123,000 miles and I am the 3rd owner. It was converted to Mass Air by the previous owner. Has Headers with some dumps. Has a lot of new parts. New suspension, gas tank, fuel pump, new belts, wires, plugs etc.... It has a little issue idling so once I fix that and get a full exhaust Ill be happy. A few other things on it id like to fix. The area where the radio goes in is broken. Was curious is there any way to fix this besides finding an entire dash? Also the seats aren't stock. I would like to get some regular black ones. This will be my summer car. Would really like to be able to have a 13 second mustang thats fun to drive. Not a fan of the Saleen wing. I was told the seats are Saleen but couldnt find much about them online. Here are some pics.

    Welcome to the site germz.

Nice looking car, I'm sure you'll be able to squeeze 13 seconds out of it easily!

For aesthetics, I'm not a fan of the wing either but to each their own. The seats look like a Recaro style with the knee bolster although I've never seen that colour scheme before.

For the broken dash, many would replace the dash like you said but of course anything can be repaired. It just may not be super simple to do. You would likely need a donor to get a graft of the portion you need. A long time ago (mid 90's) some theives broke into my '82 to steal the head unit. They broke the dash much like yours is but didn't even get the radio as it was soldered it Insurance actually replaced the whole dash at that time

Good luck with the new car!
