    Default Hello from Chicago!

Hi good folks of FEP! My name's Tom and I'm thinking of getting another fox body. Back in '90 the wife and I bought a '88 5.0 Notch off a co-worker for our daily driver. We had a lot of good times with that fat tired Mustang! I'm a Aircraft Mechanic by trade and believe it or not after 34 years on the job I still enjoy a challenge. Hopefully I'll find that 'right' Mustang soon.

Welcome to the site Tom! Good luck finding the right car!

There still seem to be quite a few nice original ones out there but the values are creeping up. The not so nice ones for projects?...well, it's amazing the state of some of these and what they have gone through and the work they'll need.

Speaking of SSP's, Once in the '88 Notch on a lightly traveled devided highway in So. Wisconsin, rolling hills that you couldn't see over, I was going 10-15 over the limit. We popped over the crest of a hill and in the median are two Wisconsin State Troopers in Notchbacks. I hit the brakes and try to 'drive casual' by them and...They Don't Attack! Did I slow enough or was it the Brotherhood of the Notch? I don't know, but I'll never forget it.
