Default Travis T's GT Give Away is making the news

Some PR for the FEP gang. I didn't see a "FEP in the news" forum so I am sorry if there is one.

    The article is actually here:

And is also linked on this site:

THAT IS AWESOME! A little publicity for all of us here isn't a bad thing either.

The article is great. I have a couple concerns...I really wanted to keep this between the two forums (FEP, SEFB) unless we absolutely needed to go outside. It looks like we will meet the goal from within the two forums which is great. I hope a bunch of people from outside do not start sending donations. This really is an informal thing we are trying to do.

Secondly I think the article cuts out the SEFB guys. In all fairness they put a ton of heart and soul, and money into getting that car back together. They are not mentioned which is bad. In my eyes it makes us look like we are trying to steal all the credit even though we did not write the article. Without the guys from SEFB this never would have happened.

The main thing is that we are going to get it done for Travis and his wife! You guys have been awesome and as a community between FEP and SEFB we came together and helped one of our own in a time of great need. I am feeling good and so should all of you!

Agreed. But It's not anyone on FEPs fault. Some web-crawler found out about it and there are no quotes from ANY representatives of this forum or actually ANYONE I believe. If you really read it, you can tell it's like a computer grab. The picture captions don't read right, it's missing sentences. It's a hastily copied/pasted article. So nobody can blame FEP for that. SEFB gets plenty of press. It's about the cause anyway.

We did it! Yay for both SEFB and FEP. $7,000 in less than 14 days.

That is awesome! So it is closed now...meaning outsiders can't get in on it because of this article?

The goal was to stop it at $7,000 all along. So there would be a "finish" line and people who donated would at least know when it would end and it would not go on indefinitely. Nothing to do with the article.
