    Default Seat removal

I know there are four bolts that hold down seat frame. Is there a way to remove seats without removing seat track/frame?

I just did this. The seat track bolts to the seat frame from the bottom up so there is no way to remove the seat from the track while in the car. It super easy to remove the seat in my 83 so I guess I would ask why you would want to remove the seat leaving the track/frame?

Having a real hard time breaking loose the frame bolts in back. Afraid might snap bolt.

Yep. I can see how that would suck. Can you possibly reach them from underneath and wire brush them or spray some penetrant on them and let it soak?

Will try that, first attempt at removing, learned hard way long time ago if it doesn't break free with some force 1st time, stop and figure what's wrong or figure out different solution.

I wouldn't say it's impossible, nor easy . . . But I believe you can remove the 4 bolts that hold the seat to the seat track in the car.

IIRC the bolts are 10MM heads. You will have to slide the seat all the way forward (or at least most of the way) to gain access to the bolt heads, then do the opposite for the rear bolts.

Either way it will take some contorting and flexibility to get to the bolts. Good Luck!

In my 81 and my 83, I can just unbolt the seats from the track. Push seats all the way forward do the back bolts, seats all the way back for the front bolts. It takes some acrobatics, but it totally can be done. You just end up with the tracks on the floor and the seats out.
