Default Fuel Pressure Regulator - need those with experiance

I have an 83 Turbo RS that I'm starting to perform some performance updates on. The car has a Walbro 255 pump in the tank with the inline pump removed; 36 lb injectors - converted to the LA3 computer, etc, etc. I was running the stock fuel pressure regulator and wanted to be able to turn up the base fuel pressure to eventually turn up the BOOST .

I purchased a BBK fuel pressure regulator and installed it. I found I could raise the base pressure but that the pressure no longer increased with boost! BBK tech support says thiers are not meant for boost - so I turn to you, my co-harts in 2.3 Turbo's for advice. If your not running the stock regulator, what are you using and how satisfied are you with it?

The plan is to eventually add an HX35 turbo I have sitting on the floor of my garage but its baby steps

Did you modify the wiring harness along with the switch to single pump? There is a resistor wire in the harness to the intank pump.

Regarding regulator, the Kirban has been a long standby in the 2.3 world. fits and works well, and probably one of the lightest ones. That's important as heavier ones can cause rail cracks. I ran a Kirban for more than 10 years with ZERO issues. I recently changed, but only because I did an upgrade to the rail and went to a divorced regulator.

I have ran the stock regulator and and aftermarket boost regulated one in my 86 SVO, both on the stock fuel rail. The aftermarket one was an Accufab unit for a 1986-93 Mustang with a 5.0. https://accufabracing.com/fuel/fuel-...ator-1986-1993

I now have upgraded my entire fuel system and I am using an remote mounted aeromotive FPR.

It was so long ago that I swapped the fuel pump (I was 18 and now I'm 39) I don't recall changing any wiring. Can you give me some direction on where I might find the resistor your referring to? Do either of you have intest in selling the regulators your no longer running?

I will second the accufab. My svo has been running one for years.
