Default Header Heat vs. A/C Hose

So, ahhh, is this going to fly?

I think the A/C line goes roughly where the stock line goes (it's an aftermarket kit), but these are aftermarket Ford Racing shorties. It looks awfully close to me. This does seem to be where the A/C line wants to live though. Will one of those DEI heat shielding sleeves solve the problem (if there is one), or do i need to look at forcing this line to run somewhere else?

    Thanks!

Looks like plenty of room to me. I would put a DEI wrap on it or the header tube, one or the other but I bet it's fine like it is. The AC lines in my GT Turbo ran right by the turbo housing from the factory and that has to get as hot as any header tube. And that's with no wrap

That is essentially where the OEM line runs. I would recommend adding some foam insulation and/or some type of heat resistant wrap to add as much heat protection as possible.

I have seen some OEM lines with large foam sleeves on them. Basically anything that can help prevent the line from getting heat soaked will help the A/C to work it's best. Good Luck!

I bought myself a pretty badass Heatshield Products "Thermaflect" Sleeve. Should do the job!

In the future, use Motorcycle Exhaust Wrap. You can get it a million colors and it looks cool.

The line does not look like the 85-93 Mustang line but it probably runs in the same space. The Mustang line has some insulation spools to help hold it in the right place. It also has a clip to hold it about .5 to 1" off the frame rail.

Yeah, this is a Hose Wizards R-134 retrofit kit from LMR. It's definitely apparent you don't get the same amount of thought the factory puts into designing stuff like this. Oh well.
