Default Cool and Useful Garage Shelving

Though I have chrome commercial-grade shelving in my pantry, a buddy of mine showed me what he is putting in his garage -- and since I am needing some additional shelving so that I can stack plastic bins of my Die-Cast toys, this might be what I'll be buying.

Check this out -- and see the vid:

I don't get it. If I'm going to store stuff, I store it.

For half the price or less, I buy larger, double or more capacity per shelf, semi-permanent shelving. Why folding with wheels? If need be, I can knock down a high-price-spread Gorilla shelf (which I have in my shop and a couple in my basement) down in 5 minutes or less and it will store in considerably less space.

    As usual, YMMV

Folding feature sort of limited to something like a temp garage parts holder for a large project.
Keep the workbench and floor clear of boxes, tools, or loose parts taken off or being installed.
Wheel it out of the way until next session everything in place. Pick up where you left off.
Could add some sides or bins to keep things from falling off or thru the wires.
Fold it up to carry easier to other projects, say in the basement.

I have a small folding scaffold. Nice because it is seldom used.
Of course there are folding ladders. Sane deal.
Shelving is another matter. Try to keep them empty....

If you aren't in a hurry for these shelves, they pop up on Woot for $75 every couple of months. https://tools.woot.com/offers/large-...-with-wheels-7

I like that they are metal for sure. Nice to see that everything isn't plastic these days. But at the same time, I understand the comments above. Why in the world did someone invent a folding shelf? So I can fold it up and store it on a different shelf?

This may work well on a project where you just need to keep the parts together for a short period of time. I like the idea of the cover, which would help keep dust and garage debris out. The wheels make it easy to move around, although it most likely can't handle heavy items.

When I need shelving, I usually take a peek on craigslist first. You can find some pretty good deals on anything from industrial to furniture, light-weight, heavy duty, shelves on wheels, etc. Of course, you never know if you'll find what you need, but you can always go to Home Depot anyway.
