Is this an Capri RS or Capri Turbo RS, or just a Capri ? How many miles on the odometer? Does it have any of the following options?

Thanks! I was told it was a V8, 5spd but I figured that was wrong. Turbo RS is what I suspected as it has the 3 piece spoiler and hood scoop. I'm supposed to look at it this weekend. I love the color combo!

If it is a Turbo RS it'll be the first I've seen with a 3.08:1 axle ratio and a 5-speed. They were supposed to get 3.45:1 standard but that may have been only with the 4-speed or auto. You'll need the codes from the buck tag to know if it came with a non-turbo 2.3L or turbo 2.3L and if it's an RS or a Turbo RS.

FYI: An RS could come with non-turbo 2.3L, 3.3L, or 4.2L that year and it too came with a 'bulge' hood scoop and a 3-piece rear spoiler.

Here's buck tag. Not to clear. Would this say TURBO?

It's a Capri RS with a non-turbo 2.3L. If it were a Turbo RS the engine code (middle of second line) would have been a "T" and "CRS" (beginning of fifth line) would have been "TRS".

Only the San Jose tags spell out the word "TURBO" if it was a Turbo RS.

I was hoping it was a turbo but still going to take a look. If the interior panels are shot it may be a hopeless case. As we all know, Caramel interior can be tough to find.

Just the code F 6 = 3.45:1 axle ratio, non-locking diff/ Borg Warner 4-speed manual trans differ.

Five speeds were initally 3.08:1 for non turbos, then everything 2.3 got dropped back to 3.45 for 1981.

It might just be a first year aberation...

That's I was thinking! To bad it's not a turbo. She's rough but solid - well worth saving. Struck a deal pending there's no title issues. Details to follow.

You'll be disappointed because they were doing a color change to white.
Jambs are white and exterior is primer. Doesn't look like much.
