Adjusted the idle mixture on my 4180. Got a rebuilt one from Summit. Ran good out of the box but runs even better now!

I was going to take it to the Midtown Car Show since it was the first nice, rain free, sunny day in quite some time.....but I ended up just driving it around for a few hours. Ended up putting about 70 miles on it yesterday and every single one of them were smile filled. This car just keeps getting better in the running area. Can't wait to get a little more timing in it when I get a chance to work on the distributor and also get the rear fenders rolled so I quit chewing up the tires.

    That's what it's all about.
Your picture reminds me I need to find some mesh wheels ASAP...after I fix some odds and ends.

I like the look of the mesh, just wish they were 16's. That would make finding tires so much easier.

I still have a ton of things to do to it to make it a reliable, longer distance driver but for now at least I can feel comfortable cruising it around town. As of today, I have put 350 miles on it over the past month.

Next on the list is getting the front suspension redone and lowered so it is no longer sketchy and matches the rear. Hopefully starting on that next week.

Did my water pump. Car started leaking at about 930pm on the freeway. Coasted into an autozone just before close and picked up a water pump. Was coming out of the weep hole. Got it all done in the parking lot only to find a ripped water pump gasket. Waited till morning and did it again. Finished just in time to go to work.

    ^^^ cool pic!

Yesterday I got the SVO inspected - good for another year.

Haven't been driving it much this year, lots of construction right near where I work and I'd rather just avoid it with my SVO.

Default Very disappointing Metro Detroit Woodward cruise on a Friday night and changes coming

Drove car Friday to the other side of town Troy to pick up a major home pc part. Happy. Was on sale.

On the way home, decided to do a short evening cruise on Woodward Ave, 9 mile to 14 Mile Rd stretch, on a nice warm Friday.

Was nothing like what Friday nite used to be back late 60's-80's.
    Music, street parties, gatherings. noise.
Glad i and many others have memories of real Woodward cruising forever.

Sparse. Dead. Quiet. A few late model Camaro and Vette clubs. BMW, Audi. Ricers abound.
Several new design Challengers and Mustangs.
One Fox Mustang, one late 60's Z-28.
Parked gatherings were being moved on by police.

No crazy muscle performance or modded hot rods, rats, classic restored. Not one.
If the seen cars were modded, it was not apparent.
They sounded like rocket bikes when 'opened up'.
Boring. But what can really be done or needs to be done to them anyway?

The neighborhoods are the same or better than ever.

At least many other local major local cruises and shows will pick up the slack.
Much more car related content and quantity. Real hot rod/muscle/classics, other.

Washed the SVO today, then pulled it in the garage and swapped out the HLA's (lifters) to try to correct a tapping noise at startup.

This weekend I rolled my notchback out into the sun (first time in ~ 12 months it's seen sun), donned a paint suit, and degreased the entire engine bay and under car. I spent ~8 hours between the engine and car. it's back in the garage to get the 4-cylinder suspension out, then more cleaning before starting the v8 assembly. I only plan to need to do this once, so I'm not going to stop cleaning until I get it back to showroom condition. No reason not to.

I haven't seen Breaking Bad, so I had to look up who that was. Yes, I suppose so. Or... A character from Willy Wonka and the chocolate Factory?
