^^^^ looks great - black can be such a PITA....

Yesterday, I finally pulled my convertible out of storage. Gave it a good cleaning and a short drive afterwards.

Nothing, I sat on my mower, drank a beer and looked at it. Here's the view from my craftsman..

I like your thinking, don't have riding mower so will have stand and drink my beer.

    Thanks

Not really, it's pretty close to the factory size now.

I'm more excited about not hearing it bang against the rear suspension.

It's nice, isn't it? Got a bit warm here this afternoon, so I drove home in the SVO with the windows up and the AC on.

Last night there was a car show as part of the night against crime thing they do each year so I went out although I didn't enter the show itself as my car is certainly not show material. I did chuckle a bit about purposely going somewhere that was crawling with police in my car which has nothing but a pair of race bullets on the headers as an exhaust system. To say it's loud would be an understatement. I figured they surely wouldn't hassle me at an event like that and they didn't.

I've been occasionally driving the car around town like that for the last couple years since I quit racing and haven't been pulled over yet but I am considering putting the H-pipe and flows back on it as I may be pushing my luck.

    Yes! Yes it is!

My car's not show material either. Doesn't stop me from showing it though.

After pulling off a bonehead move while drilling out a broken thermostat housing bolt, I now have to replace my manifold. I didn't like the idea of draining antifreeze and making a mess in my shop, so I built a liquid evacuation tool out of a, pail, a hose and a vacuum. Worked great and not a drop on the floor or the car and the antifreeze is reusable.Name: 1984 Mustang GT 026.jpg

Picked up a set of 86 sports seats, gray with red piping. Thought it might lighten up my interior of Canyon Red. Beside the new passenger seat doesn't have the "gangster lean" like my seat does now. Cost me 120$.

They are a little dirty, but even if I recover them in the future I don't have to spend the time and money to fix the "gangster lean ".

I am slowly repainting my engine bay after fixing surface rust and have started on the truck rust repair and cleanup this week. I'm almost done with filler primer on the engine bay and about to clean the truck from dirt.

Had my 3550 lock in fourth gear randomly yesterday, and it refuses to come out. Luckily I have a spare 3550 to go into the car, going to do that today. I'm thinking a synchronizer spring is to blame for this. This trans hasn't seemed quite right though since blowing up my old 302 in front of it, but it was fine leading up to that so that's why it went back in with the new engine. It's been in the car 6-7 years getting hated on without any mechanical issues, so I'm not too upset.

Would be interesting to know what it is. Usually it's a broken set of keys.
