A couple days late on this, but I finally found time to pull the seats and carpet out of my 86 coupe I picked up a while back. Not sure how many of you saw my other post a couple months ago, but it's been sitting outside for, I'm guessing, about 15 yrs. Just as suspected, the carpets were wet and floor pans rotten. I got a better look underneath, too. the torque boxes are a little rusty, but I think they're still solid. I still think I can save this one, but it's going to take a little more work than I thought. Shock towers are still healthy, lower radiator support is toast (but fairly easy fix, car is a hard top...no sunroof, so it's in good shape.

I picked up a pair of rust-free doors for it along with a rust-free hatch for my 82gt. I've been looking for a t-top car getting parted so I can convert the 82, and I've been tinkering with a couple 8.8 rear ends...one that's going in my pace car and the other going in my wife's 88gt. No buts about it...I have too many irons in the fire!

Just ordered a new master cylinder (brake pedal started sinking to the floor at stop-lights yesterday) and some door glass bracket retainers (no more holding the passenger window as I roll it up!)
I'm slowly making this car respectable.

Finally wired up the power windows in the Capri. I ended up replacing the fuse panel with one from an 86 to get everything to fit like factory
Also replaced the door lock actuators. Maybe this is the year I drive it finally

Finally got the SVO running again earlier this week (after sitting for almost a month). New TFI / ICM and it fired right up.

Went to the local Pull-A-Part to find a dome light lens. Success!
And there was an '84 with the hood prop rod clip (update: yeah looks like I need the other kind of clip **** I'm out 25 cents!!!) and an a/c switch tip I needed. Bonus round. Also nabbed several hood bumpers since my car has none.Name: image.jpg

Ok so on the master cylinder I bought (from LMR) the rear port is 9/16. The one on the car the rear port is 5/8. What's my next move here?

Double check part # to make sure it is correct. Maybe go by autoparts store to compare new on with one of theirs. I would call lmr first thing Monday.

I'm pretty sure they sent me the right part for an 85 GT (https://lmr.com/item/LRS-2140N/1983-...er-For-23L-50L)
Im gonna take a look at the whole thing with fresh eyes today and see where we're at.

Ok so I yanked the old part and test fit the new one and it seems like the threaded part of the brake line is 9/16 but the part of the fitting where you put the flare wrench is definitely 5/8. Am I taking crazy pills or is that really how this **** works?

Ordered a new set of rotors for the 82 GT late Thurs night from Rock Auto, FedEx shows up with them today (3 days early).

Hopefully I can get the brake job finished up this weekend.

Went and looked at a 79 cobra...302 auto. It's rough, but solid in all the right places. Needs a lot of work, but it's complete and 100% stock. I'm bringing it home next week...just need to wait on Monday, for them to go to the dmv and get the title. It's originally silver with red interior. Now, I'm trying to figure out where to put it. I put my 70 coupe up for sale, but it looks like instead of selling it, I'm trading for a Nissan Exterra lol. Oh well. My wife's 2 older sons have their eyes on it, so it will hopefully go to one of them.

My SVO's AC compressor was kicking on / off since last fall. I checked both schrader valves, the high side was just a touch loose.

So tonight I hooked up my gauge set and added a fresh can of R134.

Blowing nice a cold again. Just in time for some hazy / hot / humid weather this week.

    Replaced both high beams.
Old Sylvania ones still worked, but lost almost all the silver reflector. Looked like black eyes.
One was missing the little hole plug under the 12v prongs.
Went with Wagner H4651 Halogens from NPD.
Listed as M-13007-4A high beam 79 pace car.

I spent about 9 hours driving yesterday to get this aftermarket 2000 Cobra-R front bumper. Guy got with a New Edge he bought and didn't want it. Paid $100. Should keep it interesting on my widebody project. I have the original bumper that I'm going to use with this one for more track set-up since the Cobra piece has duct inlets for the brakes (and foglight holes if I wanted to add some).
