Default Does Anyone Make Inner Door Dew Wipes for the 79-80 Cars?

I have looked through all the normal vendors for the inner wipes, but it only seems they make them for '81 and up. Anyone know of a secret place to get them?

Wonder what the difference is for 79-80 as opposed to 81-86. I'm curious now.

Here,...a snip from one of my earlier replies in the Fairmont section:

As for the dew wipes,.........different story.

My car has the basic door panel. I got the kit for the replacement dew wipes from a company called Repops out of Mena Arkansas. The kit comes w/ inner, and outer wipes.

    But,

The inner wipes were generic, and were intended to go on the deluxe panel. On my door, the inners are almost identical to the outers, save for different clip locations. I was able to contact Mike @ Repops, and he had me send my old ones back in their box, with the wrong pieces, and he is building the correct units, using my old ones as a template.

This kit cost 100.00. Up until now, they did not know of the difference between the door panels, so it's highly unlikely that they will have a kit that is correct for the doors unless they act on my example. Best advice, is to keep your old ones until you have the correct ones in front of you. How screwed would I have been if I threw those things away like I almost did time, and time again?

No, they don't attach at all. They literally sit on top of the metal. In '81, they started to attach them to the door panel.
