The lower rocker areas are reinforced on the convertible and that changes the shape of the carpet.

I have never tried to swap a vert carpet into a coupe/hatchback, but I don't believe it will fit properly. Not saying you couldn't make it work, but I believe the shape at the door openings is all wrong and won't cover properly.

    Ok......UGH.

The original question was because I came across a sand beige vert carpet and wanted to see/find out if it would go in a 79 Capri hatch......

    Doing a little research, I see the carpets are dated 79 - 81 and 82 - 93.....

Wanting to do sand beige interior, should I even try the carpet I have, go black interior or bite the bullet and go custom sand beige?

Maybe not AS big of fenders (unless someone twists my arm.....TREY). But, you get the idea. Thinking the sand beige would go so well with the Gold BBS..... yes, you read correctly.

I think the vert carpet is longer on the sides from what I remember when I replaced the original in my car. I believe a vert carpet should fit in a hatch or coupe, but not the other way around...unless you put some insulation under it like I did.
