There should be a label from National affixed to the driver door frame. A number *may* be noted on that (so I was told - my Durango does not have any notations).

I like the Marti reports. I noticed that they don't have the engine as turbo charged and have the number of vehicles with that engine/trans code as quite high (because they just have it as I4 NA I presume).

The bottom line of the report under "Your vehicle was equipped with the following features:"
    2.3L 2V OHC Turbocharged I-4 Engine

It says turbocharged on the lower portion of the listed options the vin does not differentiate between the Na/turbocharged engines.
I thought that the numbers were going to be lower but this is leaving me confused...

That looks like an assembly line marking from Ford. There are a couple labels added by National. One says "Do not drive with tailgate down" and the other has something about being modified by National which I think may have an ID number (mine is missing this label).

The stats are by 'code' so the engine/trans stat is by engine code "A", which is the same in 1980 only for both the turbo and non-turbo 2.3 engine, and trans code "V". So that engine/trans stat is for all turbo and non-turbo 2.3 engines combined and the C3 auto transmission behind both engines.

The random option stat (last one in the list) just so happens to be for the turbo engine, and since it was only available with an auto trans, you know how many 1980 Fairmont 4-door sedan (code 92/54B) came with that engine.
