Thread: No Option Cars

I have lots of pics. You can probably see a couple in the January ROTM thread. To my knowledge, I believe the power too was standard, otherwise I probably wouldn't have had it as an option either lol

Power retractable convertible top has been standard since the convertible body came back to regular production (1983).

Out of all of those options, I believe the only option on mine was the premium sound system/electronic stereo with cassette.

Those were two separate options. The AM/FM stereo radio (without cassette) was standard and any of the three stereo radios could come with or without the premium sound system option.

Ok looks like I then have two options from that list

My 85 GT convertible has leather, power windows, but has manual locks and the radio delete.

Not really 100% on topic but there sure were some ODD option combinations available. Not like today where there are 2 option "packages". I have a GT Turbo (which is obviously an option in itself) and it has power locks but not power windows. Then my Gt 5.0 has power windows and locks but it is a radio delete and no rear defrost. Just seems cool you could "a la carte" the options back then. Let's see, power windows and locks....CHECK. Radio? Nah, don't think I need that really.....haha.

My 85 Motorsport Capri is a no option car (Motorsport package was NOT an option). But in 85, the Capri only had AC, PL, Cruise, AOD, Roof(Ttops or sunroof),am/fm cassette radio, & premium sound as the only available options. Stuff like tilt wheel, power windows, rear defrost were optional on mustang, but were standard in the Capri. Only 3 Motorsport Capri's were built without a single option

I would think this is a pretty rare combination to have. I wonder how many were built like that

It's funny how these got ordered in some ways. I have a 84 RS Turbo, I would figure that to be a high end car yet .... no power windows, power locks, or AC but ... has remote fuel door, tilt, and rear defrost. It's 1,000 miles away from original now, but interesting how it was ordered.
