Lift, rear suspension separation, with the accompanying weight transfer to the rear, is what plants those back tires hard and gets the business done

Mine do not leak. As I said, I do get some wind noise after 55 mph. I do have new weather stripping.
When the T-tops are off, I don't get any leaking wind noise

My T tops never leak but have plenty of wind noise because I never take the car out of the shop unless the tops are out so ALL I hear is wind! They never leak because I don't take it out in bad weather. If you need to USE the car for transportation they are probably not worth all the trouble. They ALL leak period. They ALL whistle if you drive it with the tops in and the windows up PERIOD. But if it's an occasional good weather driver I don't think you will be disappointed. They ARE AWESOME.

Just make sure you can handle the freedom that comes with T tops. They're not for everyone.

    Take some measurements!

I'll bet ya you could make a Mustang T-Top setup work in a Fairmont.

    I have 2 t-top vehicles:

    2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

    1985 Ford Mustang

    I only drive T-tops LOL.

Truth be told, I'll never remove the freedom top on the jeep. No interest. It's my daily driver and it's used to get me places that a regular can't. Hunt camp, haul the boats around etc. etc.

2 great things about the T-tops:

    1. Convertible feeling without the wind (ie. when they are on).

    2. Convertible feeling with the wind (ie. when they are off).

    I enjoy both scenarios.

A bit of wind noise at 70 mph. Took a while to get everything adjust properly. They don't leak (minimal when washed, nothing when it rains).

My AC works luckily. Great summer driver too.

They are hot in the summer, and leak terribly. Sunny day car, only. If yours don't leak now, just wait cause they will. The way the door was designed was for a frame to hold the window in place, not hack off the support. At speed, the glass gets sucked outward, revealing crevasses for water to get in. My vert does the same thing. Just a half baked retrofit, on Ford's part. With saying that, I would still like to add a t-top coupe to my collection, one day.

Just haven't seen it mentioned, you have a sunroof car, right? That means you have window frames on your doors too, if i'm thinking correctly. I'm thinking you'll have to modify your doors for this conversion. There aren't frames on ttop/convertible doors.

The window for ttops and convertibles is larger/taller to fill in the gap since they have no window frame on the door.

I will be disassembling my '83 ttop doors soon. I have a convertible glass that i will compare directly to a ttop glass to see if they are the same size.

They suck. Leak, flex, etc. That's why I abandoned my McLaren project. I wanted solid roof.

Just remember to keep an eye on the sky in the summer time for fast approaching thunder storms! I have gotten pretty fast at putting the tops back in when that happens.

Seriously, I think I would rather have either a solid roof or T-Tops over the sunroof I currently have.
My dad's is a straight hatchback and he'd kill for a sunroof lol. But he's not a fan of what comes with having ttops.

Just be like me. Go the convertible route

All the sun, none of the rattles

but you still get leaks, and the wind noise will make you go deaf at 22, and my neighbor has cut both of my convertibles and and and
